Parallel Exhibitions

Parallel exhibitions for the  Parallel Prints NZ – UK 2013 have been staged in New Zealand, the UK, France , Germany and China.  The portfolio was also presented at the Impact 8 International Printmaking Conference in Dundee, Scotland in August 2013.

The concept behind the original Parallel Prints exhibitions was to show the same works in the UK and New Zealand at the same time.  Following the completion of this project other opportunities were offered to show the folio alongside other works in different countries.

In Germany, for example, the folio prints were exhibited alongside artists from the local area and in China the exhibition Two Cities  showed works by Chinese printmakers alongside the NZ -UK works.

A second parallel prints project will take place in October 2015.  Australian artists have been invited to contribute to a portfolio that will be shown at Wharepuke, NZ and the Art Gallery of Ballarat.  The original works from NZ-UK will also been shown to give the exhibition historical context.

The portfolio is in public collection at the V& A Museum, London, The Ashmolean Museum, Oxford UK, the Whangarei Art Museum, NZ, and the Kent Print Collection UK.   Below are images from some of the  the shows.
